The Adrian College men’s hockey team is in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Harris Cup Finals for the fifth year in a row thanks to a convincing 5-1 victory over visiting Lake Forest in the NCHA Semifinals. The Bulldogs were dominant on the ice. Senior forward Cody Guidorzi scored the lone Foresters’ goal.

The Bulldogs, who are ranked 10th in the nation, netted three goals and outshot the Foresters 21-6 in the opening period. Adrian had a 15-9 edge in that category in the second period and regained their three-goal lead at the 12:22 mark. An empty net tally with 2:08 to play in the contest closed out the scoring. Shots on goal in the final period were 9-8 in favor of the home team.

The contest took place in Weston Rink at the Arrington Ice Arena in Adrian, Michigan. Junior Matt McNair led the Bulldog offense with a goal and an assist. Senior Connor Armour led all players with 15 face-off victories in 20 draws, while classmate Bryan Yim went 6-for-8. Senior goalie Kevin Entmaa (16-5-1) made 22 saves as well.

Adrian now leads the all-time series 28-1-1, including 15-0-1 on home-ice. The Bulldogs move to 30-5 all-time in the conference playoffs. Yim has 50 goals and 54 assists in his career, becoming the 14th Bulldog in history to reach the 50-50 club.

The Foresters finished the season 12-10-6. Adrian will play at top overall seed St. Norbert on the road next Saturday, defeating Marian 6-2 in the night’s other semifinal. Game time and ticket information to come at a later date for the NCHA Harris Cup final.
