Argos Sign Two More from 2019 Draft Class

The Toronto Argonauts announced today that the team has signed the following players from the 2019 CFL Draft class:

DB Matthew Boateng (6-0, 175, Fresno State, May 23, 1996, Ajax ON) – 2nd round, 18th overall.

QB Michael O’Connor (6-5, 235, British Columbia, February 25, 1996, Orleans ON) – 3rd round, 20th overall.

The club also announced today they have signed two players from the first-ever CFL-LFA draft, a partnership between top football leagues in Canada and Mexico.

DL Jose David Casarrubias Santiago (6-1, 265, Leones UAMN, Oct 15, 1993) – 2nd round, 13th overall.

LB Christian Alejandro Hernandez Delgado (6-0, 235, Fundidores, January 4, 1992) – 3rd round, 22th overall.

The Argos first round selection, Uriel Martinez Bernal from Tigres UANL, suffered a season-ending injury and will not be in camp with the Argos. Marc Anthony Hor from Germany, Toronto’s selection in the inaugural CFL European Draft, has chosen to pursue other career opportunities and will not be in camp with the team.

All rookies will join the Argos when the team opens training camp on Sunday, May 19 at York University.
