WALESKA, Ga. (SESN) — The battle for the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Football championship came down to the final day, and in the end, Pikeville and Reinhardt share the crown.
Heading into the final weekend of play, there was a three-way tie for first between Pikeville, Reinhardt, and Point. Pikeville and Reinhardt won their games with the Bears winning 90-14 over St. Andrews and the Eagles winning 49-21 over Union Commonwealth. Meanwhile, Point lost on a last-second field goal to Bluefield in a tight, 18-17 affair.
Pikeville and Reinhardt each finish league play with a 5-1 record, and Point ends with a 4-2 AAC mark.
While Pikeville and Reinhardt share the title, Pikeville received the conference’s automatic berth to the NAIA Football Championship Series since it defeated Reinhardt 47-21 on Oct. 5.
