ECHL Western Conference Winner to be decided Wednesday, May 22

The Toledo Walleye came into the Huntington Center tonight, Monday, May 20 with the potential for a history making win.  The first period began with the fans cheering “our fish” on…until the Oilers made their mark on the score board…there was silence, for both of their first period goals.  Then the Walleye came out unto the ice for the second period to get two goals straight away.  During the first period intermission, they appeared to have used the two points down, as a performance pressure cooker.  As the second period cooked up two points for the Walleye, the only two points they would obtain.  The first point was scored by Ben Storm and the second by Ryan Obuchowski.

I enjoyed seeing Kevin Tansey and Randy Gazzola supporting Pat Nagle at the goal.  I really appreciated seeing Dylan Sadowy play.  He is pictured above with the determination he showed throughout the night.

The second period had an injured sustaining Oiler.  An injury that required the blood borne pathogen type of cleaning.  The Oilers ended up winning 4-2.  One of the points was accessed by an empty net goal.  Oilers Henegar, Perfetto, Sampair, and Dostie wanted to make sure they were not the only team heading back to Tulsa.  Toledo will be hoping for a win on Wednesday in a panhandle state.
