LAFAYETTE, Ga. (SESN) — The undefeated Trion Bulldogs (4-0) will visit the LaFayette Ramblers (0-3) this Friday night in a non-region matchup at LaFayette High School. Trion, off to a blazing start this season, has dominated its opponents, outscoring them 125-61.
Quarterback Kade Smith has been a steady presence for the Bulldogs, directing an offense that has shown a balanced attack. Smith’s arm, paired with the versatility of tight end and defensive end Logan Stokes, has made Trion difficult to slow down. Stokes has not only made key catches in clutch moments but has also been a critical force on defense, applying pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

LaFayette, on the other hand, is still seeking its first victory of the season. The Ramblers have struggled to find offensive consistency, having managed only 23 points in three games. Quarterback Khalas Finley will be at the heart of any offensive success the Ramblers hope to generate, and he’ll need to rely on wide receiver/defensive back Bryson Cleghorn to create big plays.
Cleghorn, a threat in the passing game and a playmaker in the secondary, will be key for LaFayette as they look to break their early-season slump. Defensive end Benjamin Foley will be tasked with disrupting Trion’s offense and putting pressure on Smith in hopes of forcing mistakes.
Trion enters the game with confidence, coming off a 22-12 win over Model. The Bulldogs have been particularly effective in the red zone and will look to continue that trend against a LaFayette defense that has struggled to contain opposing offenses. Trion’s 31.25 points per game is one of the most impressive in North Georgia.
For LaFayette, this game presents an opportunity to change the momentum of their season. Playing at home could give them the spark they need, and if Finley and Cleghorn can connect for some big plays early, the Ramblers might be able to put pressure on a Trion team that hasn’t faced much adversity.
