Liverpool transfer news – Phillipe Coutinho claim, Harry Wilson red card, Domenico Berardi link
Liverpool transfer news, rumours, gossip and speculation including latest on Kylian Mbappe, Alexander Isak, Domenico Berardi, Donyell Malen, John McGinn, Florian Neuhaus, Ryan Gravenberch and more
Former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho longs for a return to Anfield, according to a report.
Sport Witness cites Spanish publication Sport as claiming that Barcelona will let the Brazilian leave on loan.
Sport explains there are three possibilities for the player to change clubs and among them is the Merseyside club.
It’s claimed the former Reds star’s priority is to return to the Premier League and his ‘big dream’ is to go back to Anfield.
However, the player has the doors closed at Liverpool since the Reds have several offensive players and Jürgen Klopp doesn’t want to include Coutinho in his plans for next season.
Liverpool’s approach for Kylian Mbappe only adds more fuel to the fire that Mohamed Salah’s long-term future is away from Anfield as his contract dispute rumbles on, claim the Mirror.
Kylian Mbappe to Liverpool is a rumour that refuses to go away, but the longer it takes for the superstar to sign a new deal at PSG, the more traction it will gather.
A move to Anfield for the winger always seemed like a long shot and there was never any substance to the claims.
But Mbappe’s uncertain future in Paris has drastically changed things.
The Frenchman has one year left on his current deal, yet to sign an extension and if he doesn’t, he can potentially talk to other clubs in January.
That scenario negates the hefty transfer fee that previously ruled Liverpool out of the running for his signature.
Or at least with 12 months remaining on his deal, that price tag is now more manageable if PSG do not want to lose him for nothing next summer.
And it’s believed that Liverpool have ‘enquired’ about the availability of the French forward this summer, according to Marca.
The report states the Reds would have to sell first to generate the funds for the purchase
It remains to be seen whether a swap deal was discussed but the potential decision would certainly have a knock-on effect for Mohamed Salah’s future at the club, which would only add more tension to what’s been a far from ideal six months between the pair.
The Egyptian has two years left on his current deal at Liverpool and there has been no indication of a new one on its way.
That’s for now from Anfield.
