Adrian College men’s hockey coach Adam Krug ’12 has officially released the Bulldogs 2019-20 schedule, which will get under way in Buffalo, N.Y. in November.

The venue will also be the location of the 2020 NCAA Division III Men’s Ice Hockey Championship.

Fans can catch their first glimpse of the new-look Bulldogs, who have graduated nine seniors–including three All-Americans–from last year’s 20-8-1 squad that captured its fourth-straight NCHA South Division title, on Sunday, Oct. 27 (4:05 p.m.) in the annual Black and Gold intrasquad game.

Adrian’s 25-game slate includes the Buffalo State Bengals Classic to begin the season, including Nichols College out of the Commonwealth Coast Conference, Manhattanville from the United Collegiate Hockey Conference and host Buffalo State from the State University of New York Athletic Conference.

The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association docket starts on the road against Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wis., on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8-9.

A week later, the Bulldogs make their home debut in the friendly confines of Arrington Ice Arena on Nov. 15-16 against NCHA opponent Finlandia. The home schedule also includes dates versus Scholastica (Dec. 6-7), USNTDP U-18 (Dec. 14), Trine (Dec. 31), Utica (Jan. 4-5), Milwaukee School of Engineering (Jan. 10-11), Lawrence (Jan. 24-25) and Lake Forest (Jan. 31-Feb. 1). Adrian boasts a 151-24-7 Arrington home record for an .849 winning percentage and, according to USCHO.com, the Bulldogs have led the nation in attendance capacity percentage in 11 of the past 12 seasons.

Two interesting aspects about AC’s schedule is an eight-game homestand from Dec. 6 to Jan. 11 and the team’s longest road swing of the season–four games–will close the month of February in the form of Concordia Wisconsin (Feb. 7-8) and Trine (Feb. 14-15) to prepare for the NCHA postseason tournament.

The exhibition game against Team USA on Dec. 14 is one of several notable contests for Adrian, which finished in the top-10 of the national rankings for the seventh year in a row. The USA Hockey National Team Development Program trains young players who have National Hockey League aspirations and mostly all are recruited to NCAA Division I programs. NCAA Tournament teams Manhattanville (possibly in the Bengals Classic championship or third-place game) and St. Norbert (Jan. 17-18 on the road) also dot the schedule.

The NCHA Harris Cup playoffs begin with the two-game, quarterfinal round on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 21-22, followed by the semifinals on Saturday, Feb. 29, and championship on Saturday, March 7. All games will be hosted by the higher seed.

The NCAA Tournament gets under way with the first round on March 14 on campus sites and the quarterfinals will be held the following Saturday also on campus sites. The national semifinals and finals will be Friday-Saturday, March 27-28, at Buffalo’s HarborCenter.
