Adrian moves to 14-0 all-time against Trine, including a five-game season series sweep. The Bulldogs are 8-0 lifetime on home-ice versus the Thunder.
The Bulldogs have won 12 consecutive games, outscoring opponents 68-16 during the streak. Sophomore Alessio Luciani, who leads Adrian with scoring totals of 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 total points, saw his eight-game point-scoring streak (10+12=22) snapped tonight.
Adrian also eliminated Trine from the 2020 NCHA Harris Cup tournament, 4-3 in the semifinal round last season. Gray picked up career-win No. 30 tonight against just eight losses with one tie.
The Bulldogs move to 35-6 lifetime in the conference playoffs. Adrian also put together a 15-game win streak earlier this season that began with the final 13 games of the 2019-20 campaign.
Adrian will host the Aurora/Milwaukee School of Engineering winner on Friday and Saturday in a two-game, plus “if necessary” mini-game, series here at Arrington Ice Arena.
