CLINTON, S.C. (SESN) — The Presbyterian College baseball team is back at home for a Big South series against the Longwood Lancers this weekend at the PC Baseball Complex. Backed by a dominant outing on the mound from Tristan McGregor, the Presbyterian College baseball team (16-16, Big South: 8-3) edged Longwood (8-23, Big South: 3-5) by a score of 3-2 on Saturday evening to secure the weekend series at the PC Baseball Complex. This followed a solid outing from Tyrell Williams and a new all-time program record of six hits from Jake Randolph on Friday that saw the Blue Hose power past Longwood with a 15-8 win on Friday night at the PC Baseball Complex.
A scoreless first inning on Saturday gave way to a two-run second frame from Longwood, putting the visitors ahead early, 2-0. Both teams went quiet over the next three innings before PC answered in the bottom of the sixth. Trey Fenderson led off the frame with a walk, and Jake Randolph followed with a base hit to put two on. Amman Dewberrythen grounded out, but successfully moved both runners into scoring position. Matthew Rollison came through with a clutch two-RBI double to left-center, evening the score at 2-2.
After a scoreless seventh, Randolph sparked the Blue Hose again in the eighth with a base hit. Dewberry followed with a go-ahead RBI double down the left field line to give PC a 3-2 advantage. Sean Hollister entered in the ninth and shut the door, earning the save and sealing the win—and the series—for Presbyterian.
