Crime Stoppers of Houston and the FBI Houston Citizens Academy Alumni Association (CAAA) have partnered to host a Public Service Announcement (PSA) video contest for Houston-area high school students. The 2020 – 2021 campaign aims to educate the public about the seriousness of sextortion and bringing awareness to the unfortunate reality students are faced with daily.
In addition to educating both community members and youth about the potential risks and that sexual predators can victimize children and teens in their own homes through devices they use for gaming, homework, and communicating with friends, the campaign also seeks to inform students of the crime so that they know how to avoid risky situations online and know to ask for help if they are being victimized.
