Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys have been in contract talks since the end of last season. It appears the two sides aren’t getting much closer. NBC Sports’ Chris Simms has reported that Prescott was offered a five-year, $175 million contract from the Cowboys.
That deal would make him the highest-paid quarterback in NFL history.
Dov Kleiman cited Simms when he tweeted the deal. But since then, the two have been disputed by both the NFL Network and ESPN. The original tweet from Kleiman is below.

The Cowboys and Prescott’s representative made sure to get the word out that it wasn’t true. Through NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Cowboys and Dak Prescott’s agent denied that any such proposal had been made.
Rapoport didn’t share any more information about money given to him by the team or Prescott’s side, but he said Prescott wants a shorter deal and the Cowboys prefer a longer one.
