Our first trip to the GRAND CANYON South Rim in the campervan.. A long weekend celebration trip staying at a perfectly secluded, yet open and free dispersed campsite inside the park off Coconino Rim Road. Camping. hiking, sightseeing and star gazing adventure. The views were surreal. That’s how to vacation or staycation in Arizona on a budget vacation on a budget. You don’t need a campervan or RV, you can do it with a tent as well.
In short, we were celebrating the sale of our home after months of cleaning up a wake of filth and damage left behind by terrible tenants taking advantage of the eviction freeze. Because of the freeze we could not evict them for months upon months. They had plenty of time to wreck the place while ignoring our attempts to communicate. Of course the lessee’s sister was an attorney which made things that much more difficult. I had to jump on a plane in the middle of the pandemic while cities were burning from the riots to get the court proceedings started. !800 miles away from my wife and daughter during that crazy time was scary and beyond super stressful. When they were finally evicted it took 2 months of 16 hour days to restore everything and prepare for the sale. The silver lining is we got multiple offers on the home the first day it hit the MLS and our realtor negotiated an offer above the asking price! The closing ended up being postponed till the weekend we had our trip planned but the closing was happening virtually and our attorney handled it for us. We got confirmation of the closing when enroute to the Grand Canyon. We were finally able to relax!
