Markus Naglestad became Chattanooga FC’s all-time leading goal scorer Saturday night, helping his team to a dominant 5-0 victory over the Savannah Clovers at Finley Stadium.
Chattanooga, which remains unbeaten this season, saw goals from Jesus Ibarra, Alex McGrath, Luis Garcia Sosa — who netted twice — and Naglestad, who sealed his record in front of 3,048 fans.

Entering the game, Chattanooga was undefeated in 14 league matches, leading the standings. In contrast, Savannah had managed only five points from 12 matches, though one point was secured at Finley earlier this season.
Chattanooga’s coach, Rod Underwood, made a single change to his starting lineup due to a suspension for Moldovan centerback Anatolie Prepelita. Sebastian Capozucchi filled the defensive gap.

The home team took an early lead, with Ibarra scoring in the 3rd minute. Chattanooga’s aggressive play continued, with McGrath and Garcia Sosa adding goals in the 33rd and 40th minutes, respectively.
“We wanted to put a full game together,” Underwood said post-match. “And we got closer today.”
Garcia Sosa added another in the 63rd minute, but the highlight came five minutes later. Naglestad, fouled inside the penalty area, confidently converted the spot-kick to become Chattanooga’s top scorer.

“Every goal is valuable, but today’s meant a bit extra,” Naglestad said. “Historically, it meant the most.”
Despite the 5-0 lead, Chattanooga pressed but couldn’t add to their tally. Naglestad was named man of the match.
The victory marked Chattanooga’s best home league result since turning professional. The team will next host Salt City Union (NY) on Aug. 19.
