The Arctic Freezer 50 (non-TR version) really needs some work. Arctic has a strong liquid cooling CPU cooler lineup, but this air cooler has pressure and assembly weaknesses.

Watch our FUMA 2 review here:
Our review of the Arctic Freezer 50 specifically benchmarks the AM4/Intel version, but be advised that there is also a Threadripper (“Freezer 50 TR”) version out there. We have not tested the Threadripper one and so can’t speak to its quality at this time — but we can talk about the Freezer 50 as it pertains to its desktop CPU (non-HEDT) cooling capabilities. The Freezer 50 competes most directly vs. the Scythe FUMA 2 (which we reviewed), and at the higher-end, more expensive competition includes the Noctua NH-D15, Deepcool Assassin III, and similar. We’re still working towards uncovering the “best” CPU coolers for our eventual 2021 round-up, but for now, the list is shaping-up pretty well.
