The 4th annual Schuylkill United Way High School Football Challenge was held at Ghosh Orthodontics Field at Spartan Stadium in Fountain Springs, Pa., on June 22, 2021. Participating schools included Blue Mountain, Mahanoy Area, Minersville, Nativity, North Schuylkill, Pottsville, Schuylkill Haven, Shenandoah Valley and Tamaqua. In 2019, the High School Football Challenge raised $19,870 to benefit its partner agencies. $21,000 was raised this year to benefit Schuylkill United Way’s new pilot program, Nurse’s Pantry, which provides basic hygiene items and school-approved attire to nurse’s offices in elementary schools across Schuylkill County for children who may not be able to afford them.
