Ascent up Mt. Elbert, the highest peak in Colorado, via the east ridge. Ski descent from the peak, into Box Creek Couloirs. After taking some test turns at the top of Box Creek, we determined a wind slab on top of the snowpack made the couloir too risky, so we hiked out and rejoined the east ridge to continue the descent.
