Our viewers have been requesting that we test the same fans in every case, thus standardizing them, and so we finally decided to do that. We have some reservations about this testing approach, described in great detail in the video, but it also offers some unique insights. There are definitely positives and negatives to the topic, and we hope that our explanation helps highlight those in detail. Further, we’ve tested with a noise-normalized configuration for case thermals. This one is more universally applicable, as we use the stock case fan configuration and set the fan RPM (split evenly across all case fans, leaving CPU and GPU fans alone) to reach a noise level of ~36dBA. Once achieved, we run thermal tests to see which case performs best under equal noise conditions.
