The Toledo Walleye are the ECHL’s Western Conference Champions. They will now move on to the Kelly Cup Finals for the first time in the team’s 10-year history. The Walleye defeated the Tulsa Oilers 6-2 on the road, Wednesday night. A crowd of more than 1,500 was also cheering them on in Toledo at Fifth Third Field, per WTOL.
This is the first time Toledo will play in the ECHL playoff finals since 1994 when the Toledo Storm captured back-to-back Riley Cup titles. The Walleye are only four wins away from bringing a championship back to the Glass City. Toledo now faces the Eastern Conference champions, the Newfoundland Growlers. The two teams did not play each other during the regular season.
Below you can find full broadcast information for the upcoming series. Games 5-7 will only be played if necessary, as a sweep is possible. Matt Melzak will be on the call for Toledo.
