Albion College handily defeated Adrian College, 69-24, in MIAA action at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium on Saturday. Jacob Clark rushed for 118 yards and four touchdowns and Jack Bush threw for a career-high 302 yards and three scores for Albion.

Adrian’s redshirt freshman transfer running back Trent Stone ran for a career-high 124 yards to lead all student-athletes, and sophomore quarterback Jack Wurzer threw for 214 more. Aided by excellent field position, Albion exploded for 28 points in the fourth quarter. The Britons longest scoring drive in the fourth quarter was just 36 yards.

Stone came to Adrian from NCAA Division II Davenport University, where he red-shirted in 2016. The 69 points are the most scored by either school in the series. Today also was the highest scoring game (93) in series history, bettering last year’s 49-42 (91) Albion win.

The teams traded scores in the first quarter. Albion gained control in the second quarter, building a 27-14 lead on touchdown runs by Markell McCoy (14 yards) and Clark.

Albion averaged a shade more than 7 ½ yards per play to roll up 578 yards of total offense. Justin Thomas (five receptions for 124 yards) and Kyle Thomas (five receptions for 108 yards) both finished with more than 100 receiving yards.

Drew Shafter led the Albion defense with nine tackles.

Albion, winners of back-to-back games to improve to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in MIAA games, will play its final home game next Saturday against Trine University. Kickoff is set for 1pm at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium.
