Blog; A Shoutout to Sport Group and Personal Announcement

I am leaving my role with the marketing teams at Sport Group and AstroTurf. I wanted to take a moment to express my deep gratitude and appreciation for the time I have spent with the companies. It has been an honor to be a part of such a talented and dedicated team, and I will always cherish the memories and connections made during my tenure. Rekortan, Laykold, APT, SYNLawn, and STR have all been enriching to help grow in addition to what I have done for and with the iconic synthetic turf company.

Most of you reading this probably have no clue who I am. This blog is about my role as a marketing team member at the company who owns AstroTurf. My name is Gabriel Schray, and I also own the holding company that runs this website. You can learn more about me at gabrielschray.com.

When I arrived at AstroTurf, Gary Jones told me the company was like a family. “Sure,” I thought. “Everyone says that.” It has been a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated and passionate group of individuals. The level of commitment and drive to succeed that I have witnessed firsthand is truly inspiring. My coworkers have become like family to me, and I will miss working with each and every one of them. Gary is an incredible guy, and they are so lucky to have someone onboard that cares as much as he does.

I also could drone on and on about Missy Burrow, a woman who makes the office fun warm and friendly. I can’t say enough about the ethics, character, and friendship of Mr. Chris Stephens, who runs just a few clicks more annually than Forest Gump. Harrison Scott has become a close friend, and the signal calling legend is as crucial to the marketing offense of AstroTurf as he was to the local high school. Our friends at SYNLawn and overseas in Germany are also bright, dedicated, and more than fun.

I have grown both personally and professionally during my tenure promoting the suite of brands and companies, and I am forever grateful for the opportunities and support provided by the company. I would like to thank everyone at Sport Group for the amazing experience and I can’t wait to see what’s next for the brands and people who make them so great.
