The Bradley Central girls won and the McMinn County boys stayed strong late for a split series on Tuesday night. Bradley Central’s girls team nearly doubled up McMinn County 62-32. The Cherokee boys team stormed back from a. deficit and held a late lead to best the Bears 70-58 in their home gymnasium.
Bradley Central’s girls best McMinn County
Peytyn Oliver was the conduit the offense of McMinn County’s girls ran through. She hit 7 of her 15 attempts from the floor and racked up 19 points during the contest.
Erica Swick was a top scorer for Bradley Central. Swick went 4-8 fox the floor and finished with 10 total points. She also had 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals against the Cherokee.
Hannah Jones stuffed the stat sheet on Tuesday- going 5-10 from the floor for 11 total points. She added 4 steals and an impressive 10 rebounds throughout the course of the contest as well.
Karsee Weber led all scorers with 15 total points
Karsee Weber led all scorers and had the best performance on the glass. Weber finished with 15 total points in the contest and 11 total rebounds. She hit three from beyond the arc.
The Bears had 26 points off of turnovers and 25 points in the paint against the Cherokee. Bradley Central’s girls also scored 22 total points off of the bench during their Tuesday win.

McMinn County Cherokee boys handle Bradley Central
Brandon Shumbera racked up 10 free throws on his way to 20 total points. The point guard gave his best effort as he tried to facilitate the Bears on the road, but McMinn County was simply too hot down the stretch.
Davion Evans and Tucker Moore both had big nights, as they scored 12 points each for the Cherokee. Evans finished with 4 assistant and Moore finished with 3. Moore also had two steals.
Ty Runyan went 6-7 from the floor and 3-5 at the line as he racked up an impressive 18 total points against the Bears. Runyan stuffed the stat sheet with 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals during the contest.
Hayden Smith finished with 20 total points
The offense of the Cherokee flowed through Hayden Smith, who made room and big plays down low. Smith hauled in 8 rebounds as he went 3-5 from he line and 8-13 form the floor. Smith finished with 20 total points.
