CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (SESN) — Chattanooga Football Club has announced a mutual agreement to part ways with forward Carlos Rivas.

“We were really glad that Carlos was with us,” said Sporting Director and Head Coach Rod Underwood. “We were excited that he was with us. We really wanted to make sure that everyone can win in this situation, so we agreed to part ways, and we wish him all the best. His service has been good to us.”

During his tenure with Chattanooga FC, Rivas made ten appearances, starting in one match. He recorded one assist, combining with fellow substitute Ethan Koren to secure a 6-2 victory over Inter Miami II on April 13, 2024. Additionally, Rivas played a crucial role in sealing home shootout wins over both Orlando City B and Atlanta United 2 with his decisive penalty kicks.

Rivas began his career with Jamundi FC and debuted in Colombia’s top division with Once Caldas in 2012. He then had a successful stint with Deportivo Cali during the 2013/14 season before joining Major League Soccer (MLS) with Orlando City FC. During his time with Orlando, Rivas made 78 appearances and scored eight goals from 2015 to 2017, playing alongside the likes of 2007 Ballon d’Or winner Kaka.

The 29-year-old has since played for various clubs in Colombia, Israel, and Ecuador, most recently with Colombian first-division side Patriotas Boyaca before joining Chattanooga FC.

Chattanooga FC will next host Orlando City B at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 27. Tickets are currently on sale.
