CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. | NSBNsports.com | August 14, 2026 — Baylor enters the 2026 high school football season seeking its second consecutive state championship behind one of the nation’s most talented backfields and a roster attracting national attention.
The Red Raiders completed a perfect 12-0 season in 2025 and captured the TSSAA Division II-AAA championship with a 28-24 victory over Brentwood Academy. It was Baylor’s third state title and its second in four seasons following consecutive runner-up finishes in 2023 and 2024.
Baylor scored 513 points last season, averaging nearly 43 points per game. The Red Raiders defeated McCallie 56-35 in the state semifinals before completing the undefeated campaign against Brentwood Academy.
Senior running back David Gabriel Georges returns after rushing for 1,756 yards and 27 touchdowns last season. The two-time Tennessee Mr. Football winner and 2025 MaxPreps National Player of the Year is a five-star prospect, one of the nation’s top-ranked running backs in the 2027 class and a University of Tennessee commit.
The backfield also includes senior quarterback Keegan Croucher, a four-star prospect committed to Ole Miss. Freshman quarterback Marshall Manning, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, will begin his Baylor career behind Croucher as the Red Raiders’ backup quarterback.
Baylor will face a demanding schedule featuring opponents from Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, Kentucky and Texas. The season begins Aug. 20 with a state championship rematch against Brentwood Academy at Heywood Stadium.
The Red Raiders will later host three consecutive Division II-AAA East opponents in Christ Presbyterian Academy, Montgomery Bell Academy and McCallie. Baylor closes the regular season with road games against Ensworth and Knoxville Catholic.
