A contract offer of this size surely would have leaked out before today, and likely from an NFL-sourced reporter. I’m not discounting Dodd either, but a quick Twitter search presents results that he has never even mentioned the Detroit Lions in the 12 years he’s had an account.
It’s been a week since the Detroit Lions’ 2021 schedule was released, and every fan willing to take part in the shenanigans has already dropped their season predictions. Lions fans have been uncharacteristically realistic at this point in the offseason, with 65 percent believing the Lions will win six or fewer games according to a poll from last week.

But while that may seem pessimistic by some standards, the news could be much worse for the Lions, based on the season-long Vegas odds. According to the Westgate Superbook—who released game odds for all 18 weeks of the 2021 schedule—the Lions are favorites in exactly zero of their 17 games. They share the dubious claim with only one other team in the NFL: the Houston Texans, who are currently in quarterback purgatory with former NFL MVP DeShaun Watson’s status currently unknown.
