Breaking down the school, stats, recruitment, projection, and more for the true freshman defensive lineman

I’ll be honest – when the Michigan Wolverines picked up a commitment from the low three-star Dominick Giudice, I thought it was a long-shot that he’d ever contribute in the maize and blue. After going through his film and looking at his ability, I’m convinced his floor is closer to a guy ranked in the 800-range, rather than where he currently is at around 1,800 overall.

At Mater Dei high school, Giudice put together an insanely productive junior year, amassing 43 tackles for loss and 24 sacks. There may be some questions about his overall athleticism that could limit his potential at the next level, but the production was absolutely there during his time at high school in New Jersey.

He’s almost surely a fit at a 3-4 defensive end position, and at 6’4 265 already, he’s closer to playing weight already. I still think he’ll spend a few years seasoning before ready to see game action, but his technique, motor, and hand-usage should make him an intriguing interior-first defensive end down the line.
