WALESKA, Ga. (SESN) — In an overwhelming display of prowess, the Reinhardt University Eagles secured a decisive 63-0 victory over the St. Andrews Knights at Ken White. This AAC matchup showcased Reinhardt’s dominance as they improved their season record to 5-4. The Eagles were able to light up the scoreboard for Homecoming 2024.
From the beginning, the Eagles took control of the game under the bright October skies, leading 28-0 at halftime. Reinhardt’s offense was in fine form, with important performances from Tyress McKey, who scored a rushing and receiving touchdown, and Taylor Jackson, who contributed with three touchdown passes despite one interception. Other notable scorers included Jerdavian ‘Jah’ Colbert, Jordan Ghant, Damoni Taylor, Jayden Ponder, Chris Barnes, CJ McGhee, and Jeremiah Rowe.
Jeremiah Rowe highlighted the key moments with a 65-yard fumble return for a touchdown, amplifying Reinhardt’s scoring spree. Colbert added to the spectacle by rushing for a 77-yard touchdown, contributing to several game-changing moments. The Eagles gained a total of 569 yards of total offense and accumulated 26 first downs compared to just 11 for the visiting Knights.
Defensively, the Eagles were just as impressive. Jeremiah Rowe’s playmaking was notable with a fumble return. Emmanuel Olaitan and Darryl Turpin both brought intense pressure, accruing multiple sacks and tackles for loss, which kept the Knights off the scoreboard.
Special teams also played a vital role; Alex Hanson successfully executed all nine PATs, contributing to the team’s high score. Looking ahead, Reinhardt is set to travel to Bluefield on November 2nd, 1:30 kickoff, to face the Rams in another AAC matchup. The Eagles currently sit in second place in the AAC standings behind the UPike Bears.
