An incredible and moving viral image shows an Australian volunteer firefighter catching up on his sleep on a lawn after battling bushfires for 10 days in a row. The powerful image was shared on Facebook by Jenna O’Keeffe. The New York Post reports that she is the daughter of the exhausted firefighter. The family is from Conjola in New South Wales. There dozens of bushfires are destroying land, homes and lives.
Firefighters are working tirelessly to try and control the blazes. High temperatures and wind continue to extend the flames, and it makes them extremely difficult to control.

It is the middle of summer in Australia, meaning there is much more hot weather to come. Since being posted on Saturday, January 4th, the image of the exhausted firefighter has been shared over 45,000 times.
