From a spunky real estate agent to a State Trooper avenging the death of her partner, award nominated actress Jill Marie Jones has proven time and time again that she is a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry. This year, Jones will be seen starring in Warner Bro. and OWN’s highly anticipated drama series “Delilah” from showrunner Craig Wright (Greenleaf) and executive producer Oprah Winfrey. The series follows Delilah (Maahra Hill), a lawyer and single mother who takes on cases big firms ignore and finds herself, more often than not, going head-to-head with the powerful and privileged as she fights for the disenfranchised. Jones stars as Tamara Roberts, Delilah’s confidante and best friend who is a lawyer to the wealthy and powerful. Delilah and Tamara’s friendship is on the line as they go head to head in court in their biggest case to date. The series will debut on March 9, 2021.
Jones is perhaps best known for her role as Toni Childs in UPN’s award-nominated series “Girlfriends,” in which she appeared opposite Traces Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, and Persia White. The series was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series at the NAACP Image Awards from 2002-2008 and nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series at the BET Comedy Awards in 2004 and 2005. Jones’ standout performance also earned her individual nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the 2004 BET Comedy Awards and Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series at the 2006 NAACP Image Awards. Jones then went on to star as the female lead in Starz’s “Ash vs. Evil Dead” opposite Bruce Campbell. Additional credits include UMC’s “Monogamy,” ABC’s “Black-ish,” FOX’s “Sleepy Hollow,” FX’s “American Horror Story,” TBS’ “Gillian in Georgia,” and “Meet the Browns.”
On the film front, Jones starred opposite Kevin Hart, Meagan Good, and Mike Epps in Image Entertainment’s romantic comedy “35 and Ticking.” She also went on to star in Dimension Films’ “The Longshots” opposite Ice Cube and Keke Palmer, and Upload Films’ “Drool,” which premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival and earned her praise from the LGBTQ community for her comedic performance. Other notable film credits include: “The Perfect Holiday,” opposite Gabrielle Union, “Major Movie Star,” opposite Jessica Simpson, and “Meeting Spencer,” opposite Jeffrey Tambor.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Jones is a former Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader and Dallas Mavericks Dancer. She was featured as the celebrity face of the Baileys campaign “Serve Chilled,” which aired worldwide and spanned across print and television. On the philanthropic front, she works closely with the USO and Department of Defense, having traveled to sites across the world, including Egypt, Korea, Japan, and Israel to support the US troops
