Lessons Learned As A Female Hockey Player | Claire Bradford | TEDxDePereMiddleSchool

Hockey is often thought of as a men’s sport, but Claire wants to change that perception. Through her journey (so far) as a female hockey player, she shares her vision for a future where women’s hockey is seen on the same level as men’s hockey. Claire is a eighth grader at DPMS who juggles multiple priorities including school, soccer, and hockey, and responsibilities at home. Claire started skating and playing hockey at age four, and it has been a huge part of her life ever since. She just finished her season in March with an all girls hockey team called the Green Bay Bobcats, and looks to continue her career with the all girls high school team called the Ice Bears. Between school and sports Claire loves spending time with her friends, family and dog Charli. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
