With Tom Brady opting to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it was clear that Jameis Winston would be on the move this offseason. It took longer than expected, but Charles Robinson finally broke the news that Winston had been signed. He also is staying within the division, after signing a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints.
Winston was selected no. 1 overall by the Bucs back in 2015, having a promising, yet tumultuous career since. Despite flashes of elite QB potential, Winston struggled with turnover issues, setting a record 30 TD, 30 INT season in his final year with the franchise.
Winston completed 62.9 percent of his passes throwing for 19,737 yards with 121 TDs and 88 INTs during his tenure in Tampa. Brees is clearly slated to be the starter still, but it will be interesting to see if the Saints have a creative plan for Jameis and Taysom Hill.
