The National Football League has now officially reached a new collective bargaining agreement that has been agreed upon by the Players Association. The deal will be in place for the next eleven years.

Major components of the deal include an increased share of revenue for the players, increased roster size and practice squads. As well as added benefits for retired players.

The deal also specified that there would be no more testing for marijuana in return for a 17-game regular season. That longer season comes along with an expanded playoff field.

The new CBA was sent out to players on March 5th and needed a simple majority vote from the pool of players to pass

NFLPA President DeMaurice Smith tweeted out an open letter following the agreement being reached Sunday.

If you would like more information on the agreement, the full details can be found on the NFL’s website.
