One of the most aggressive safeties you may have never even heard of: Chris Adams. Adams is one of many D3 Football’s unsung heroes who is hoping to get a shot at the professional level. Many of the greatest athletes to ever play at these institutions don’t even receive a chance to show their stuff.
The safety ended his career as a four time first team all conference selection. He was showered with accolades throughout his career at Adrian. Due in part to his accolades and statistics, it’s likely that Adams will receive an NFL tryout during preseason camps. At the minimum he’ll receive some looks.
Adams career took off in High School. He was born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Florida. There, he attended Gibbs high school and was an incredible two way athlete for their football team. He was a 2013 second-team all-county pick at Gibbs. Adams was also selected to the Pinellas County All-Star game as a senior.
“Mean, lean, strong. Adams can just straight up hit guys,” said Adrian College’s Head Coach, Jim Deere
It may have seemed like Adams had peaked to many after receiving those accolades, but in truth he was just getting started. The safety exploded onto the scene in Adrian, Michigan. His coming out party came his Freshman year, after he unloaded a massive hit onto a running back during Adrian’s homecoming game.
While in college at Adrian, Chris Adams resume grew steadily. He was a four time first team team all conference selection. He was awarded the national defensive rookie of the week award by d3collegesports.com. And in addition to this, he was invited to and participated in the D3 senior classic bowl game, along with teammate Emmanuel Stewart.
