Temeka Johnson is one of the greatest players in LSU women’s basketball history. During her Lady Tigers career from 2001-2005, Johnson was an All-American, won the Nancy Lieberman Award for the nation’s top point guard and finished as LSU’s and the SEC’s all-time leader in assists. LSU made the first two of five straight trips to the Final Four during Johnson’s stay, including an incredible Lady Tigers squad that won the SEC with a 14-0 record and finished 33-3 overall during the 2004-2005 season. She was then the No. 6 overall selection in the 2005 WNBA Draft, being named the Rookie of the Year that season before eventually winning a WNBA championship with the Phoenix Mercury in 2009. After playing well over a decade of professional basketball, Temeka is now the head girls basketball coach at John Curtis High School, where the Lady Patriots just won the 2021 Division I state championship.
