Middle Tennessee State took on Rice in 2020 for one of the craziest games ever. The Owls were down by 15 in the third quarter with little momentum. With an Austin Trammell touchdown that all changed. Rice took the lead late in the fourth quarter only for MTSU to force overtime with a last second field goal. In overtime MTSU would miss their field goal attempt which was followed by a quadruple doink from Rice. In the second overtime Jalen Jackson would block the field goal attempt by Rice. The next drive QB Asher O’Hara would take it in for the game winning touchdown. He finished 24-33 for 333 yards and two touchdowns in a 40-34 2OT win.
