Seattle is in the running to be a host city for the FIFA World Cup in 2026. A press conference is being held Monday morning at Lumen Field with members of the official FIFA delegation and SEA 2026, a local organizing committee acting to ensure Seattle’s participation in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Seattle is the final stop in an eight-city tour for the FIFA delegation as it works to decide the final list of host cities for 2026.

Concacaf President and FIFA Vice President Victor Montagliani and FIFA Chief Tournaments and Events Chair Colin Smith will be joined by representatives from SEA 2026 during the 11:30 a.m. PT press conference.

During the visit to each city, the FIFA delegation meets with stakeholders to talk about topics, such as venue management, infrastructure and sustainability, as well as commercial, legacy and legal matters, according to a press release. The delegation will also inspect infrastructure like stadiums, training facilities and potential FIFA Fan Festival venues during the visit.
