Valparaiso University won their home opening series on their new turf. Southern Illinois University couldn’t overcome the might of the Crusaders in the four game series. Breaking in the new turf at Emory G. Bauer Field was a big moment for the program, and they were excited to share it with the world.
“The addition of the turf is big for us,” senior outfielder Jonathan Temple told the Valpo Torch. “Being able to play home games earlier in the season and gives us more swagger going into games.”
