Toledo Walleye Gain 2-1 Series Advantage in Central

Extra

On May 1, 2019, the Toledo Walleye took a 2-1 series lead in the Central Division against the Cincinnati Cyclones. It was the third game of the Central division ECHL championship. The Huntington Center was not at spectator capacity. But we were still a small and mighty crowd. We rose the noise meter to the top to cheer on our fish. The first goal was scored by Cincinnati’s Brady Vail. I thought for sure the game was over, since the Walleye did not make the first goal, as they like to do for momentum. But the second and third periods were strong for #16 Bryan Moore two goals, #86 Greg Wolfe two goals, and one goal by #11 Trevor Hamilton. At times, it looked like an adjacent Fifth Third Field game with the number of pucks being caught and put back into play. So the Toledo Walleye now lead the Cincinnati Cyclones 2-1 of a seven game series. Friday night is the last Toledo Walleye home game of the series before heading to the Cincinnati home field. But, Toledo won game one of this series on Cincinnati’s turf. Game two was won on Toledo’s turf by Cincinnati. Tonight was the first game of the series to be won by home team.
