NASHVILLE, Tenn. (SESN) — Chattanooga FC secured a commanding 7-2 victory against the Nashville Wolves in their penultimate match of the season, with Riley Brown scoring a hat-trick and Annalisa Vincent adding a brace.
Head Coach Tom Halsall, maintaining the 3-5-2 formation from their previous outing, made four changes to the starting lineup following last weekend’s defeat to Decatur FC. Brooke Alvarez, Billie Jean Davies, Betha Pucek, and Riley Brown were introduced in place of Lilly Kate Varino, Janne Van Brummelen, Eleonora Franco, and Juliette Lucas.
Vincent, carrying her momentum from scoring the lone goal in the last match, netted the first two goals for Chattanooga FC in the first half. Her second goal was particularly noteworthy, as she volleyed the ball into the top corner. Brown then added to the score with a header, followed by a long-distance strike from Academy product Brooke Bolton, giving the Sky Blues a 4-1 lead at halftime.
Brown continued her scoring spree in the second half, netting her second goal 11 minutes in. New Zealand youth international Juliette Lucas added a sixth goal for Chattanooga before Brown completed her hat-trick, capping the night with a dominant performance.
“It’s a lovely result,” said Halsall. “We’re very pleased with it. Obviously, we’d love to have got the clean sheet, but no complaints about scoring seven goals. The players responded well. Riley Brown and Annalisa Vincent really stood out tonight. It was a good night overall, and lots of positives to take. It gives us good momentum going into the final game on Saturday.”
Chattanooga FC Women are currently in sixth place in the WPSL Southeast Conference. They will conclude the 2024 season with a trip to face Atlanta Fire United on Saturday, July 6, at 7:00 p.m. ET at Pinecrest Academy Stadium Field.
