JACKSON, Mich. (SESN) – As the Jackson High School football team prepares for the 2024-25 season, the Vikings are aiming to build on last year’s mixed results and make a strong push in the Southeastern – White league. With an overall record of 4-5 in the 2023-24 season, Jackson finished 3rd in their league with a 3-2 record, showcasing their potential with notable victories and areas of improvement.
Last season, the Vikings had a solid start with key wins against Waverly and Tecumseh, including a thrilling 50-49 triumph over Tecumseh that highlighted their offensive prowess. However, a late-season slump led to a four-game losing streak, ending their playoff hopes. With a balanced blend of home and away games this season, the Vikings are focused on consistency and execution to achieve their goals.
The season opener sees Jackson traveling to Monroe on August 30, a non-league matchup that sets the tone for the challenges ahead. Following this, the Vikings will host Waverly on September 6, aiming to replicate last year’s victory. Key league games against Tecumseh, Pinckney, and Chelsea are also on the schedule, providing opportunities for Jackson to assert their dominance in the Southeastern – White league.
