WATCH: Stockbridge High Bounces Back With Big Win Over Perry High

Stockbridge High School’s football team put together an impressive overall performance to best Perry High’s Ramblers. The Panthers scored 38 on their way to over 400 offensive yards on the day.

SHS bounced back from a loss in week three, and now stands at 2-2 on the season. Perry dropped to 0-4. Stockbridge and Coach Jeremy Killinger put together an attack that couldn’t be slowed on the ground or in the air.

Andrew McConnell, Andrew Orwell and Nic Barber were the Ramblers top defensive performers on the day. McConnell finished with 8.5 tackles on the day, and added 1.5 for a loss.

It wasn’t all bad for Perry on offense either. The team finished with a combined 190 yards. They were good for 66 passing yards and 124 on the ground as well.

Jeremy Pilch, Drew Phillip and Kevin Killinger were a three-headed spear on offense. The three combined for over 320 yards on offense, passing, catching, and rushing their way to that number.

Phillip completed 73% of his passes for 154 passing yards. He threw two passing touchdowns along the way, both caught by Pilch, who had 47 yards receiving on the day.

Kevin Killinger was the player of the game for SHS. The tailback carried the football just nine times, but averaged over 13 yards per carry, good for 120 rushing yards and a score on the ground as well. He also had a defensive TD.

Stockbridge High finished with 443 total yards on the day, with an almost unbelievable 289 rushing yards. The program has long been known for Killinger’s innovative offensive play calling.

On defense the Panthers shined as well. Even though they allowed 190 yards and 13 points, they scored twice on D. Kevin Killinger and Drew Robinson both scored on the defensive side of the ball.

Stockbridge High’s Phillip also grabbed an interception. The Panthers will need their defense to continue to stand tall to win down the stretch on the year.

Perry still has to play Hesperia and Bath to close out the season. The Panthers will play Lee and Olivet. All four programs will prove to be tough matchups.
